Darcy Meeker: Sculpture & Painting

Darcy works in stone, silk, oils, light, copper (from earrings to 43-foot wall sculptures), and has created a large public sculpture with neon and fiber optics.
She writes for Sculptural Pursuits magazine and writes and gives workshops on the healing power of making art. Her commissions include a large public sculpture for General Electric in Schenectady, NY, and other sculptures for private homes.
Five colleges have given her one-person shows.  Galleries and art centers in 12 states have included her work.

"Flame gives my copper a simmering, iridescent patina that changes throughout the day.  Detailed hand tooling twinkles over harmonious shapes and paint highlights the design.   My goal is lively experience for both passing glance and leisurely perusal.  I also work and design in stone, clay, fabric, neon and fiber optics and write, speak and give workshops on these art forms and on creating a healthy self through making art."
